Why I want to burn my computer: I don't have time for these errors! I have work to do!

I finally get enough assignments via my writing business to live on, but then my computer starts running slow. Of course this would happen when I have a lot of work to do! If I decide to burn my computer for real, this will definitely be the day.

Every time I’d try to click on a file to open it, I’d witness the mouse pointer circle dance. Forever in ever the action remains in progress while my computer screen freezes.

Sometimes, I’d feel like I might as well not even work. What’s the point? I’m not going to be able to get anything done while my computer runs slow anyway.

Why Is This Happening to Me?

It doesn’t help that I haven’t run my PC Health Boost in a while. I procrastinated registering the latest PCHB version for over a month. While waiting to review my license key, I never even bothered to scan my PC for registry repairs for about a month. Not Good. Not good at all. But at least I know this program worked when I was using it!

Back to my current troubles: It doesn’t help that I keep forgetting to leave my computer on in the middle of the night. This is when my Microsoft updates are scheduled to take place. If I don’t leave it on, I can’t get them. However, one thing I have to do is set my computer’s sleep function to over 24 hours so it won’t shut down before receiving the updates.

I probably also need to get rid of some my Chrome extensions I don’t need. (This used to be my
favorite browser, but I just looked at my Task Manager and noticed it’s taking up a lot of my physical memory and CPU space.) Just look at how much memory this browser’s using up, and this is only after opening one tab! Something is just not right here. Some of my bookmarks just got to go, I think.

Lesson Learned the Hard Way

I should’ve known better than let my computer go so long without maintaining it. After all, I recall when I unknowingly had a fake copy of Windows XP on my computer (don’t let that person touch my PC anymore). I have almost as many problems now as I had then.

Right now, I have a ways to go before resolving the problem. However, I’ve been through this countless times before and I know it’s not too late to fix the problem. I’m going to start uninstalling programs I don’t need.

However, that’s not all I need to change. I’m also going to stop downloading so much crappy freeware! That stuff isn’t even worth the zero pennies I pay for it. It usually runs me in the negative as far as business expenses are concerned, considering the computer repair I need to pay for after downloading that junk.

Now What?

I guess I better fix my computer before trying to waste time getting work done. I had some progress already after removing registry errors. The next step will be to run a virus scanner to get rid of issues. Oh, but if I had only done this before I got viruses! I wouldn’t be in this predicament right now! I’d be getting work done! AARGH!!
